Animals kill their offspring if they are short of resources. People have abortions when they are not financially stable too. For some, being here and giving a good life/citizenship maybe the appropriate reason.

Ante local ayithe having access to best schools and universities for kids. Best jobs possible for their kids etc. Not saying it is always the case in the US, but there are reasons. 

I keep thinking that the second generation probably has less hunger to succeed than the first generation on average. They have integrated into the american society and like all other previous immigrant generations have become the flora and fauna of this country.
