Hyderabad: Man who lost job due to Covid-19 pandemic hangs self

Hyderabad: A 35-year-old man, who lost his job reportedly due to the Covid-19 pandemic, was found hanging in his house in Musheerabad on Tuesday night.
According to the police, K Pandu Ranga Rao, a resident of Ramnagar lived alone at his house. Before the lockdown, he was working with a private firm and reportedly lost his job due to the pandemic. “For the last few weeks, Rao was selling LED lights at different places in the city. However the business did not do well. He was depressed and could have hanged himself over this,” the Musheerabad police said, adding that a case under Section 174 of CrPC was booked and an investigation was on.

In a separate incident, K Vijay Kumar (25), a resident of Bowenpally, who had doused his body with diesel and set himself ablaze 10 days ago, died while under treatment on Tuesday night. His family members told the police that he had slipped into depression over some family issues and could have ended his life over those. Investigation is on into the incident.
