విశాఖపై ప్రభావం.. సముద్రగర్భంలో చీలిక ఏర్పడినప్పుడు తీరం వైపు భూభాగం కుంగిపోయింది. అత్యధికంగా 900 మీటర్ల వరకు కుంగినట్లు ఆధారాలున్నాయని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు గుర్తించారు. విశాఖ తీరానికి సమీపంలో కుంగుబాటు ఎక్కువగా ఉందని, దాని పర్యవసానాలు నగరంపై పడే అవకాశాలున్నాయని అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు.

చీలిక కారణంగా భవిష్యత్తులో ఉత్తరాంధ్ర ప్రాంతానికి భూకంపాలు, సునామీల ముప్పు పొంచి ఉంది. అది ఎప్పుడన్నదీ చెప్పలేం. చీలిక భాగం తీరానికి  వంద కి.మీ. దూరంలోనే ఉన్న నేపథ్యంలో ముప్పు తీవ్రత ఎక్కువని చెప్పకతప్పదు. హైదరాబాద్‌ కేంద్రీయ విశ్వవిద్యాలయానికి చెందిన డాక్టర్‌ ఇస్మాయిల్‌, విశాఖ ఎన్‌.ఐ.ఒ.కు చెందిన డాక్టర్‌ కె.శ్రీనివాస్‌, ఒ.ఎన్‌.జి.సి.కి చెందిన డాక్టర్‌ సాహా  అధ్యయన బృందంలో ఉన్నారు.

Did K S Krishna tell that Vizag is not suited for capital?  His findings are about fault line found in KG Basin, if active could impact coastal region in the form of Tsunami. He didn't say its going to happen anytime soon. They dont have caliculated time when it would active again either.

ee news pattakundi,  Vizag is not suitable ante, then people will start claiming Amaravathi is not suitable due to Volcano in Mangalagiri.
