one of the very best fast bowlers in that era...  he is very very like mcgrath but never got that much of an attention/credit like the australian

I read a stat somewhere that in his active years, he was the bowler to be ranked number 1 majority of the years

like I said, he is always on par (if not better than mcgrath) and should have gotten a lot more credit and fame to his name. Absolute miser in terms of giving runs, he used to seal one end and frustrate the batsmen, that eventually they used to let go and fall for him or his teammate.... I would give some of the credit to Polly for many of the wickets taken by his teammates while he was bowling from the other end.

Hmm actually he had Allan Donald for the most part as his fellow bowler, Donald is the closest comparison to McGrath than Pollock although Donald was much quicker than McGrath. Even if Pollock didn't have a great day, there was always Donald who could bamboozle you with pace.

So you can credit Allan Donald as well going by the same logic, also Fanie De Villiers was another guy who could end up drying the runs at the other end more so than any other bowler in contemporary history esp in ODIs

different type of bowlers.... donald more of a pace and scary bowler but pollock is medium fast like mcgrath and is a very economical bowler andhuke comparable anna

I dont think donald and mcgrath are similar, mcgrath never scared anyone with his pace, it was always his disciplined line and length that worried the batsmen, so pollock and mcgrath are similar, both medium pacers and both very economical bowlers that depended on their line and length rather than pace or short balls. Also Donald is senior to pollock, came in way earlier and also he didnt play as much as he should have.
