One of my friend is in a bad situation. He used credit cards for his Family emergency in India and one of the credit card was charged off from his bank checking account ( the same bank from  which he had a credit card) and the other credit card was closed went to collections. He paid off the balance to collection agency. Right now there is no debt 

Are there any ways to recover atleast one card?

What are his options to improve his credit? Please help !
