I have a passion to do PHD , it More focus towards Human resource domain. I am planning to role myself into teaching profession (starting with community college in next few years and possibly go into a university). Moreover you will have ample of time to complete it with doing FT job then why not ??

It's more out of my ignorance that I am asking this question, but what's there in HR to really research about? I mean, if it's really psychology or something, it makes more sense, or even economics. But HR is something so applied, that I don't see any reason as to what it constitutes. To be honest, I feel the same way about business administration, but that's besides the point.

There is lot to learn and research about HR and management bro.People often think HR is just as an cost center and non critical component of the organization but if you see any successful company whole organizational behavior and culture is built by them and they are very essential part of the company strategy and growth. Important research areas includes - recruiting, employee selection, performance management, learning, training and development, total rewards (compensation and benefits), and strategic human resource management.

One of the key areas I will be working is -Organizational Behavior -The key to a successful organization is to have a culture based on a strongly held and widely shared set of beliefs that are supported by strategy and structure. When an organization has a strong culture, three things happen: Employees know how top management wants them to respond to any situation, employees believe that the expected response is the proper one, and employees know that they will be rewarded for demonstrating the organization's values.

More over if you wanted to get into Sr leadership positions (director/VP) PhD will adds value to the resume and if anyone wants to enter into teaching profession PhD will act as a stepping stone. Based on above two criteria’ s I felt PhD helps me to grow in my career and I will able to achieve my goals, hence opted to do the PhD program.

I know bro.I wanted to still do my job and study. I know my school is reputed enough And have value to the education I am pursuing. Moreover majority of contribution is coming from my employer. Anyway thank you for the suggestion.
