Its just the hype. Regular fish lage vuntundi (Gravy might take different/better since they cook it in little different way than regular fish curry).  But, since Pulasa comes from Ocean, it may seam it has slightly different taste than fresh water fish that godavari people regularly eat.  It is hyped due to being seasonal and its less availability.
