You can renew 6 months before expiry. Approximately took 7 days. CKGS website has instructions in detail.

within 3 years of due expiry you can renew it.

Go to CKGS website, they have all details and don’t miss any of the document they asked for it.. I did it one year before my PP expiring and took 10 days

I did it one month before expiry at chicago embassy,

Took 10 days

Same process as mentioned above and you will have another headache i94 extension too if u have visa granted until passport expiry .

You need to travel outside or

go to border cbp office in cali or texas or arizona or

file h1 extension or

people get lucky when calling airport cbp offices  but usually they don’t update it

none of that stuff is entertained now ...only h1 extension

People are still going to mexico border and extending i-94
