Avoid from 2-5am. I drive 8-12k a year for vacation(s). Had a moment where I snapped for few seconds, that was my literal wakeup call. Never again.

there are times where I had to lug 16hrs a day, not anymore. Like a trucker, on mc max i do is 450-550 miles, on car with family I do 650 max a day.

Key is to have hydration breaks every 2.5 to 3 hrs when on motorcycle or car. That goes long way. Enjoy drives, with or without family, take enough brakes to ensure you are not fatigued.

I did a drive to Tennessee from Chicago 8 hour business meeting

Than drove back next day had . 5 hour sleep the night

Returning back was hell

Started around 4 pm by 830 to I felt so drowsy

I stopped few places but couldnt handle the stress and sleepiness

By the time I reached Indiana I couldn't handle any more

I called my wife to keep talking to me till Chicago border I spoke to her than I saw cop so put the phone down

It was in silent. My wife called me 50 times

But I just wanted to get home

So I just drove and forgot about phone

By the time I reached home around midnight

She already called the. Cops and later had to call them to say I was home safe

Experts recommendation kuda ade taking break every 2 hrs is good. Talking on calls is very effective and prevents us from sleeping.

Ya with kids elano every other hour pee break antaru.. the other hour gas break so ala plan cheyatame...

bachelors/young guys: stop doing those 2am-5am drives. Don’t lug too much in a single day.

As they say, road trip is not abt the destination, but the journey to there.

roadtrippers.com lo waypoints plan chesukuni enjoy the journey to your destination and back home safe

I did long travels many times and felt the same

recent one san jose,ca  to springfield, mo...only me

headaches and sleepiness,,,,,one thing i did was to focus on breath

loss of oxygen leads to mental drain and sleep while driving

drink more fluids and eat well.
