Most of the state DMVs require you to have insurance for the registration to be valid.

You can update the policy to Garage mode usage. You will still pay the full premium for the duration but it will be reimbursed once you move back to normal policy mode.

If you have two cars. keep one car in storage - means you don't drive one car and it should always remain in parking lot and it covers the basic coverage like some hit and run , hail , parking issues .

you can take out from the storage anytime you want. Minimum storage plan is 28 days. Most insurance covers especially GEICO does the storage. Try to keep the expensive car in the storage. make sure you don't drive during this period .

2. for the second car , make sure you keep very basic less miles driving less than 10,000 miles per year.

@Satrajith accidents cheppi avute evvadu insurance maate ettadu

call insurance

do not ask here

tell him what you are thinking about insurance amount and how to lower it

if he cannot give you this garage option or some options like that because it depends not just on you driving but also the risk rate of the place of stay

1) Shop around

2) Increase your deductible to max like $2500 for collision and comprehensive.

3) DO NOT cancel insurance if you are still driving the car even once a month.

Remember this, If you have insurance and doesn't need it, that's fine. But, if you don't have insurance and you need it (even minor accident or something) you are f**ked.
