In Late 90’s, India was opening up its economy with reforms. India was trying to project that it is easing regulations and attracting businesses. 

New generation of CM’s like SM Krishna, CBN, Digvijay Singh and Modi were all over the news for their proactive approach in bringing the businesses to their states. They were projected as the new face of business friendly India. It actually changed the image of India and Bangalore, Hyderabad became IT hubs during that period. 

In AP, they amplified this with our own PR machinery.

If you notice, CBN, Digvijay Singh and SM Krishna ruled for two terms and somehow became very negative in their states.. some section of people really hated them. CBN was in opposition for two terms. They didn’t allow Digvijay and SM Krishna to even contest in elections after that.
