Can anyone enlighten as to why and how is Gandipet is getting dried up and what is the impact of GO 111 ?

on an average of 10 years, 7-8 years aithe almost full avutundi...of course catchment loss ayindi but still it has been getting inflows like always.

Coming to dry spells, heavy monsoon vunna kuda there were instances where catchment region did not get good rainfall and the result, both the lakes were partially filled.

even before 2014, this was quite evident. Perhaps 1995 and 1983 kante mundu enno sarlu partial ga nindindi...

90% of osman sagar and himayathsagar catchment region is in parigi, vikarabad, anathagiri hills.

barely oka 10% catchment in and around the lake.

GO 111 repeal is no doubt is because of commercial reasons but a commercial interests catchment is barely 10%

if anyone are familiar with vikarabad and anathagiri hills, kotipally reservoir ni okati kattinaru...that's where the starting point of catchment water to the lakes originate.

a reservoir kattadam valla downstream ki ravalsina major water agipotundi, and madhyalo inkoka 10 medium size tanks vunayi...not to mention about the ten's of check dams which is blocking the water flow..

GO 111 teesukuranika main reason, to preserve water for Hyderabad drinking needs.

This was in 1996, when Hyderabad completely dependent on two lakes and manjeera,singur for its drinking water needs.

Since 1996, Krishna phase 1,2 and 3 are completed, Manjeera and Singur are stabilized, Godavari water is being supplied and these projects have been completed already. Not to mention the mega reservoir coming up in Choutappal, slated to complete in 3 years.

Situation intha change ayinaka, what is the significance of GO 111 ? It should be repelead and more constructive and sensible rules should be put in forth to protect the lakes, as well as the economy surrounding it.

so does that move makes it good ?

what if the aforemention commercial area results in 20% then 30% eventually making it disappear ?

not just KTR farm house the construction activity around it why cant the development move towards the other directions of the city instead of concentrating  in and around gandipet sakkaga public transit kuda ledu

next golconda fort is of no use lets demolish that and use it whtat difference does it makes if it exists or not

like wise charminar-- it was built in the memory of defeating plague, lets bring it down and built an multi speciality hospital which makes more sense.
