State govt has to spend about 1500 crores to set up meters for all the motors in AP.

 

What exactly are they achieving with this 1500 crores if govt will reimburse this to farmers anyways?

Centre put a condition to get more debt (right now, they can borrow up to 3% of GDP but if they implement this, they can borrow up to 5% of GDP) .

Exact reason ? Increase  FRBM limit by complying with center rules . AP govt ki this reason only 

 

Central government endhuku pettindhi antey , state discoms with free current are heavily indebted and are not paying the producers for years on end , like APtransco had 3 years pending bills related to free current .

1 . It will solve payment delay issue immediately

2. Many people are misusing free current for other purposes including big shots for other purposes.It  Weeds out the abusers 

3.  Lot of farmers are using 10 hp motors in 3 hp connection , especially in rayalaseema . By fixing meters they will need to upgrade to the correct connection .  This will fix grid mismatch , increase stability and extend transformer life

4 . Main reason by center , it gives way to gradually reduce the subsidy . First they will go after big farmers , then they will go after heavy users , slowly phase out free current scheme . This is a long time frame work , I am talking 20,30 years long plan  .

YSR ichina scheme ni jagan theeyadu ,  this is a long plan by niti ayog . 20,30 years ki YCP ,TDP untayo ledho .

Basically they want discoms to be healthy and make it attractive for private power producers
