Corolla hybrid costs around 25k$ 

But regular corolla costs around 20l

 

For the cost of regular car we can buy a hybrid in USA 

We cannot buy a regular car in India 

Imagine how taxes are killing development in India

because India is not a big market for cars. there's not enough competition.  other than US and China, all other markets are very small.

Its not taxes, duh! 

not enough people have the money to buy car in India and most of the cars manufactured are exported. 

domestic market is small. its probably one-tenth of the market in China.

even if Toyota expands their manufacturing capacity in India, they won't sell much in India.

I was responding to why cars are so expensive. manufacturing did get unattractive due to taxes. that's different.
