There is no limit to time you can be outside the US on an H-1b, assuming you return prior to the visa expiration date Quote
bayarea Posted September 17, 2020 Report Posted September 17, 2020 there is no restriction from immigration perspective. for tax purposes, india treats you as resident if it is beyond 180 days so you’ll need to file taxes in India as well. maybe that 180day limit is relaxed because of covid so check irs lannti websites for indian taxes Quote
