I mean democrats are clear on their position , they want more illegal immigrants but all these "build the wall, make Mexico pay for it"  guys do not support legislation to punish business that hire illegals .  They just aribitarly go after poor helpless people and not the millionares who benefit from the worker exploitation

conservatives used to be pro free market fundamentalists. but its slowly changing. 

even hardcore conservatives understood that freemarket (the way it is practised) is not beneficial to natives.

freemarkets to function need a steady supply of labour. borders are actually a hindrance to freedom here, and affect efficiency of the markets

what US is moving towards is national conservatism. 

its also relevant to the question you asked earlier about how local workers in amaravati lose out in such free movement of labour. 

Technically the loss is meagre, because locals find other work and can access services at cheaper rates, and enjoy improved living conditions thanks to more skilled people moving in and filling up jobs.

the us vs them starts only when the immigrants settle down and starts to compete with the locals in politics. or if some political party decides to use them as convenient stick to beat the ruling party with.

the term 'illegal immigration' itself is a misnomer. 

US is signatory to international law that says people who apply for asylum at the border should be provided a hearing. ofcourse the details are sketchy about the country of origin of the said applicant.

so they are in US under complete compliance of US law, until the day of their asylum application hearing, that drags on for years for some. 85% of those that are admitted do turn up to hearings until they are convinced that they won't qualify for an asylum. then they go awol. that's when they become illegal. 

so no one can actually want 'more illegal immigrants'. Its just that these people turn up at the border and the US is obligated to let them in. 

ofcourse Trump Border security patrol has found new ways to make their claim invalid by saying the act of crossin the border is criminal. but its not a criminal act. Trump tried to make it criminal. didnt work.

some great intelligent people in this db keep saying that they will go back to India happily if US kicks them out. total dumbfucks who don't even understand what the issue is. and the dangerous conditions some of these people are escaping from.
