Without new car supply used gas carswill go out of stock and the poor will be forced to purchase EV's with depleted batteries that will cost a fortune to replace .

I don’t know what to say. Things we do effects the total rise in global temperatures. Since the poles have most ice, they are the first to melt.

Ye raai aithe em? Battery production also leaves a lot of carbon footprint and uses rare earth metals (more mining). Unless they really want to expand the public transportation to reduce the car commuters to 50%, it is a zero sum move.

CA lo AC’s ban cheyyaali.. that will bring down the emissions by a lot.. many old apartments in the Bay Area doesn’t have AC’s though..

Perhaps you should know that in rest of the world people can  commute in a variety of public transport . Most people in UK cities don't even have a personal car anymore .

California does have not even have public transportation comparable to indian cities , that leaves even the poorest on the mercy of individual car . 

They could have achieved a greater reduction in carbon footprint by building low cost housing in areas with employment but the corrupt megalomaniacs want to appear to be climate friendly without doing actual ground work .
