విమానాశ్రయంలో సీఎంకు స్వాగతం పలకడం నుంచీ తిరుగు ప్రయాణం వరకూ డిప్యూటీ సీఎం కళత్తూరు నారాయణస్వామి కూడా సీఎం వెన్నంటే ఉన్నా అంత ప్రాధాన్యం కనిపించలేదు. కర్ణాటక సత్రాలకు శంకుస్థాపన సందర్భంలో పవర్‌ పాయింట్‌ ప్రజంటేషన్‌ జరుగుతుండగా సీఎంల పక్కనే టీటీడీ బోర్డు ఛైర్మన్‌ వైవీ సుబ్బారెడి, మంత్రి పెద్దిరెడ్డి ఆశీనులయ్యారు.  వారి వెనుక డిప్యూటీ సీఎం నారాయణస్వామి ఇతరులతో కలిసి చేతులు కట్టుకుని నిలుచుని వుండడం కనిపించింది. నాదనీరాజనం వేదికపై కూడా  పెద్దిరెడ్డి తర్వాత స్థానమే ఆయనకు దక్కింది.
