Losing fingerprints because of sanitizer

I am not sure how many people are facing this, but because of using sanitizer after every swipe to enter buildings at work, I am losing fingerprints on my thumb. I changed to a different finger in some buildings, but I am still having difficulty entering some buildings because it cannot access my fingerprint. This is why I want to stop using sanitizer.

It is sanitizer provided at work, not sure what it is. But I stopped using it for almost a week. I think other people are facing this issue as well, when I went to change my fingerprint to a different finger for some buildings. Also the device that analyzes fingerprint to grant access is not working too well because of excessive use of sanitizer.

Wait for a month, it will grow back. Change the finger on the biometric for now.

Can't quit work for a month, trying to reprogram all biometrics to a different finger. They changed the biometric machine once since it broke down.

I didn’t ask you to quit. 

Create a fake fingerprint for the new finger so that you don’t end up in this situation again.

Wear gloves and suit right after entering, not touching face, washing hands with soap before leaving.

As long as you're not touching your face. I am using sanitizer on gloved left hand to apply it on the scanner before I enter my fingerprint of ungloved right hand.
