It is all relative. They get paid more than other fields - just not the pay they should be getting.

Ofcourse different professions pay different salaries. But, that's not the point. If they are paid less than what they should be for their level and location, then they are clearly getting exploited because of their vulnerable immigration status.

This is precisely what exploitation of labor because of immigration status means, and that's what DOL is trying to fix. People need to understand this, that immigrants are vulnerable and are subject to exploitation.

May be, but increasing the wage level exorbitantly is not the solution.

Increasing wage level doesn't solve it.

That way people are not being exploited by vendors or whatever you call them. They have to get paid and not be exploited, and increasing the wage levels is the only way to prevent them being exploited.

Why would it not solve it? Not your employer has to pay you more, so that you get paid similar to a US citizen with the same skills.

That forces these sick bastards not to hire us to pay more.

So, obviously they are exploiting you, and you're being exploited. The reason you are scared is because you have a vulnerable immigration status, and they are taking advantage of that. The only way to ensure that people like you don't work for cheap is by increasing the wage levels.

I don't feel like that helps. But it's your opinion that it might. So let's stay with it.

I think the key is to get rid of middle men, who take money from employers and not pay their employees enough. How can the Government get rid of them without increasing wage levels? So, I think it's fair to get rid of them so H1Bs are paid more.
