Corosion is caused by rust causing bacteria that will be killed by alloy wagon wheels of trains. That's the whole framework.

It's caused by the oxidation of metal surface due to moisture in the atmosphere. Some bacteria are present in iron that causes corrosion, but that's not the primary reason.

Bacteria promotes oxidation. That is addition of oxygen or removal of hydrogen. Its redox reaction.
