Australia coach Justin Langer unhappy after India make a concussion sub after their innings

Ravindra Jadeja skilfully batted the death overs for India, adding 44 off 23 balls as India made 161. But in the last over, Jadeja batted on after getting hit in the head. After India's innings, he was replaced by Yuzvendra Chahal, who went on to take the big wickets of Aaron Finch and Steve Smith. Australia are asking questions on how legitimate the substitution is, especially as Jadeja also seemed to injure his leg.

Irked Langer gets into argument with Boon after Chahal replaces Jadeja

Jadeja was replaced by Chahal as concussion substitute.

drama ensued after the Indian innings ended as Australia coach Justin Langer and captain Aaron Finch were seen in a heated conversation with match referee David Boon.

The issue was that Yuzvendra Chahal had been called onto the field in place of Ravindra Jadeja as the concussion substitute, much to the chagrin of the Australian coach. Jadeja was hit on his helmet in the last over, bowled by Mitchell Starc. But he continued to bat for four more balls, before returning to the pavilion.

 

However, the contentious issue for Langer was that Jadeja had also suffered a hamstring injury in the over before that and was unable to run between the wickets. This would have made it impossible for him to come out and bowl and field as well.

Therefore, Langer might have felt cheated as India opted for Chahal to replace Jadeja as a like-to-like concussion substitute. It is also possible that the BCCI medical team who assessed Jadeja after his return in the hut, wanted to do more tests, or that Jadeja showed delayed symptoms of concussion.

Perhaps someone shud remind him of 2019 ashes, where Steve smith was replaced by his boyfriend, after a head injury.

The rule

Rule 1.2.7.3 of the ICC playing conditions for concussion substitution states: “The ICC Match Referee should ordinarily approve a Concussion Replacement Request if the replacement is a like-for-like player whose inclusion will not excessively advantage his team for the remainder of the match.” Rule 1.2.7.7 states: “The decision of the ICC Match Referee in relation to any Concussion Replacement Request shall be final and neither team shall have any right of appeal.”

neekosame baa rule...allrounder ki spinner ni allow cheyyakoodadhu kadha..

vallu question chesindhi kooda adey ..jadeja ki chahal like for like player ela ane..another question is about medical staff being on the ground after the incident where they have to make set of tests..which didnt happen this time..

Why not... Jadeja gaadu full overs bowl chestadu... Indian team played by rules.. sometimes it may sound unfair to loosing side but rules are rules.. and referee Is not an Indian so partiality kooda em ledu...
