It is super popular in Telangana villages and in few parts of Hyderabad. Only thing is Andhra people didn’t notice it and Media didn’t project it as today. Kavitha with her Jagruthi got more glamour and fame to it...

 batukamma/dussera is just not one of the festivals in TG but it is THE festival for Telangana folks - nothing gets bigger than this.

batukamma is regional flavor  of Navaratri utsavalu, woman folks prepare batukamma everyday for 9 days and sing, dance and play(like dandia in North parts). The 9th day is the culmination of navaratri and a grand celebration which is called batukamma festival(happens a day before dussera)

What a pity. Some of these tg A holes don't know bathukumma celebrate by many Andhraites since nizam times. 

These A holes don't even know that kosta andhra  also ruled by nizam before Europeans occupied.

Navaratri 9 days poojalu andharu chesukuntaaru not just in TG okko roju okko devi Rupam lo poojisthaaru 1 family will host each day in US and they upload their pics in FB.

Bathukamma is when people in TG drink, Sankranti is when people in AP drink, because that's when they have money from agriculture, it all comes down to when you can drink.

Dasara is the bigg festival in TG, Paala pitta Susudu ..bathukamma mutton curry mandhu thagudu it lasts 7-10 days usually
