batukamma is regional flavor  of Navaratri utsavalu, woman folks prepare batukamma everyday for 9 days and sing, dance and play(like dandia in North parts). The 9th day is the culmination of navaratri and a grand celebration which is called batukamma festival(happens a day before dussera)

Brathukamma Festival has a lot of history... Chala Stories cheptharu ... AP or Telangana clear idea evariki ledhu.. Some say as Goddess Durga History, Some say as Goddess Maisamma darshan for tribals..

But one thing is true..

Sammakka Saraka, Brathukamma Became famous only after State Bifurcation ...

Brathukamma became trending b'coz it resembles to Dancing in Circles (Like Dhandiya with Sticks)... where as Brathukkamma with Claps..
