I don't have experience with this but it shall be pretty much on that lines and could also be based how close you are to them.. 

Dogs usually get pretty close to their owners what ever may be time of day when you're back homeand opening the door they will be first to greet you.. 

If you have serious inclination of bringing them up well with dedication you will enjoy their company.
