I94 Extension

My H1/visa good until 2022 but my passport is expiring mid next year. Visited India early this year, online lo I-94 check cheste “admit until date” shows my passport expiry date. I know going out of the country (after I get new passport) is an option to automatically extend I-94 but anyone in DB applied for extension without traveling outside US?
Do I have to go thru H1 extension process or just file I539 by itself? And can we do it by ourself or attorney?

people went to the CBP officer in closer airports to extend it. Appointment edo dorukuthundi. I did not do it, but heard people doing it.

H1 process mottam cheyyali .better bhyata ki velli ravadan ee . CBP deferred action location lo sometimes chestharu but very rare .
