How is the location ,lived in New York when I was a student might have to live there

We are living in 5000 sq ft house now 

it will be huge shock 

I was in ozone park as a student 

where do families live like safe neighborhood and good schools 

Can we get decent apartment for 5 or 6 thousand ? in Manhattan at least like 1500 sq ft or is it 10 k range

1500 kastam for 5k but you never know.  Richmond Hill has a lot of desis and you can get a single family for that next to a train station.. 

I pay 3000 for 1 bedroom 840 sq ft in Elmhurst.  This area is good.  If you want schools, then Forest Hills is the place.

btw why specifically Queens area flushing

I lived there for a while, recently moved out. If you have a Choice move to Long Island or secaucus. With kids I would not recommend flushing, it’s full of Asians, 99% hard to find parking, and fresh air and no Indian community.

I lived there as student 

had some bad experience in that location and bachelor life is different than when you have family 

And I am thinking about my child’s education , best school district and how they will let live in small houses and cramped up spaces 

( probably will buy a house rather than pay 5 to 6 thousand rent ) 

looking for more suburb feeling 

may be Long Island or Jersey city is best idea and commute
