Every culture has its positives and negatives. I'm sure our culture has alot of positives but this thread lo mana demerits meedha focus cheddham.

On an average, I think biggest problem in our culture is lack of individuality. Free spirit nature undadu manollaki.

Manam elder members hierarchy framework valla vallani satisfy chese process lo konchem and soceity lo frnds and extended family dhaggara respect and validation earn chese process inkonchem individuality 10ngedtam.

Very few people live on their own terms. It's such a shame

Bhayam..chinnappati nundi bhaya petti penchatam..adi chese good kanna bad ekkuva..

  • cassette feeling , religion feeling
  • parents influence almost everything (both good and bad , good that you have some support to always fall back on , bad that you have to go out of your way to do somethings you may not like much)
  • curious relatives who want to hear everything you do , starting from a fart...
  • comparison with everyone , right from lkg to pg , financial , kids , etc , annitlo comparison , not satisfied if they are good , pakka vadu manakanna eppudu ekkuva vundakoodaku ane mentality , edupu
  • worship of movie actors , lmao , this is really pathetic
  • corruption in almost everything and sadly its tolerance among public , very few honest ppl , being honest is considered being weak and not smart

Despite all its faults , its still our country and the one we can call 'home' so we learnt to live with all these negatives growing up..

Slave mentality and crab mentality. We cannot tolerate growth of someone in our vicinity. and we are perfect slaves, thanks to caste system which groomed us this way. anduke brit gallu, 200 years 10gi poyaru, ippatiki ruling class, politicians & rich 10gutunnaru. politician pogane vadi kodukuki guddiga votes vestam, we are tuned this way to accept them as rulers. no one questions it.

Biggest drawback of Indian culture is giving importance to rituals in religion rather than the philosophy behind that ritual.

Ippudu temples lo cheppey vrathaalu, mantraalu , rituals ivanni not original.

And philosophy kuda not authentic - moksham, gatha janma falitham, jagamantha maaya, ilanti crap cheptharu.

Ivi kaadu what I meant when talking about philosophy behind our rituals.

Sad thing in Indian culture is temples do not want to educate people with true knowledge. They are happy propogating the rituals , turning temple into a financial venture rather than a spiritual center.

Many temples answer to your problems is jathaka dosham, puja, vratham, yagnam etc.
