Consultancy asking for I 797 photocopy

Hi all,

While trying for a new job,one of the consultancy is asking for my I797 copy & dmv license copy to add it into their system..and then reach out to me once there’s an opportunity match..Just wanted to check if these details can be shared?

Kinda common now a days... they don’t want to hire someone whose h1 extension is in progress or have a couple of months of validity left.. especially for Long term projects... 2-3 months lo vellipothe, they have to start looking for another candidate again..  also Not every client gives a client letter, which is mandatory now for extension..

I hope so.. they will ask some or the other documentation... h1 extension is not guaranteed..

This is the biggest information theft in us. 
They ask all details and literally they dont get back to you. Back ground verification has to happen after the job offer.
