Managers and Above... How do you deal with this situation

I am a project lead and have been leading projects for about 5 years. Recently I identified an opportunity and started working on a solution with team and presented it to my director.

 

Since it's a multi-million dollar project I included the whole team, shared  all the resources and making good progress. So far so good. Maa team lo oka manager(one level above me from a different dept) aa shared resources ni theesukuni director tho conversation started. Bottom line is he wanted me to lead the project but he wanted make presentations to the Vice-President, corporate etc. Naa manasthathvam entante I don't take anybody's credit but I don't give away my credit too. So athaniki presentation ki kaavalsina resources ki access ivvaledu. Naa daggariki vachi lets do that lets do this ani helping presentation lo. I am good at presentations and lead projects for a while now. I made the presentation on my own and reviewing with my director and VP now.

 

Question entante am I playing right? Team player spirit missing Antara naalo. Just wanted to correct if I am wrong anthe.

Probably he is seeing lot of potential in your project and want to bring more visibility to it by taking it to a much higher level.. i know some managers who encourage like that... it happened to me too... make sure that you have your name everywhere and you get your due credit.. and do your own presentations..

He is a good guy but he will overshadow other people who works hard.

Situation ela undi ante okari shoulder tho okarini thosesi munduki pothunnattu undi.

When I feel I am losing, I am tightening screws by not sharing resources and not inviting him to meetings etc to gain upper hand.

Long term lo eee behavior correct kaademo anna feeling.

I don’t see an issue with that.. he will probably be cautious of taking a dominant role in that case.. and will give you due credit.. is your manager fine with this?

Good question. Maa manager old school, subject peddaga raadu. Discuss cheinappudu he will appreciate. 1 hr tharvatha which project antadu.

 

Other manager I am talking about... he is also fighting to get funding approved for the project. IMO he should review and give constructive suggestions to me rather than he doing it.

You are doing it absolutely right. You don’t have to wait for him or seek his opinion. Vadiki job security issues emo... leaning on you. Feel free to proceed with your conversations with leadership and put even more rigor into how you execute it.

as long as you are not directly reporting to him att care 

tell him that you want the experience of doing this by yourself and learn etc ani story cheppu politely , he will get the hint..
