zarathustra Posted November 23, 2020 Report Posted November 23, 2020 Austin is just an awful place to live in every way. The city was never designed to have so many people, the traffic is horrible during rush hour and it won't improve anytime soon. Plus the city is hot and humid for close to 9 months of the year and the weather just sucks there. On top of that, the real estate is outrageously expensive for no real reason there. Stay away from Austin unless you are one of those that cocoons themselves at home almost all the time. Anyone that loves nature and being outdoors should avoid Austin. 1 1 Quote

Boston has a lot better educational institutions as well, Austin is not even close to it. Higher education in Boston area is ridiculously expensive. 50k per year minimum Quote

Its hot agreed(Not super hot like Arizona) - Humid - Nope, not true. Living in Austin for 10 years now. Companies are there in North and South - if you buy a house in north side, commute will be good. Indian community is decent. Coming to schools, there is UT Austin - there is only one but its highly rated college Allergies is bad for sure. 1 Quote
