Anta Assamey Posted November 25, 2020 Report Posted November 25, 2020 Andhra Pradesh state election commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar is gradually mounting pressure on the YSR Congress party government in Andhra Pradesh for the conduct of local body elections in the state. Equipped with the high court order copy, Nimmagadda is dashing off repeated letters to chief secretary Neelam Sawhney every alternate day to make arrangements for the local body elections in February. Simultaneously, he also wrote a letter to Vijayanand, chief electoral officer of Andhra Pradesh representing Election Commission of India, to make preparations for completion of voters’ enrolment and hand over the same to the SEC. Nimmagadda requested the CEO that the revised voters’ list be given to the SEC by January 2021, so that elections could be held in February. He said the CEO could coordinate with the Panchayat Raj Commissioner to make arrangements for publication of voters’ list in every district by January end. Apparently, Nimmagadda is quoting the Supreme Court judgement on the conduct of local body elections in Karnataka, Kerala and Rajasthan. “Even if AP government moves the Supreme Court, it won’t get a favourable judgement,” he is said to be arguing. Let us see how the Jagan government moves its pawns to counter Nimmagadda. Quote

When teachers and students can get infected.... or for an example why were teachers posted to control lines and crowds near liquor shops when they were opened.... 2 sides egos tho sachipotunaru .. I guess he wants to conduct the elections before he retires, to have something to his name before he leaves. On the other side why is AP govt asking Teachers to come to schools without students ? If everything is business as usual why not elections is his point. Quote
