Ashoka University

Even though Ashoka University was established in 2014, it is ranked on par with BITS Pilani, and is doing way better in research than IITs even. There is no standard exam for admission to study here, and you don't have to choose a major until you're a sophomore, very similar to the Universities in the US. In India, there are a places of learning like TIFR, NCBS, JNCASR that don't quite get as much recognition for students to choose these Universities instead of going to a standard Engineering college. It's a shame that a lot of smart students choose to go to mediocre Engineering colleges and waste their talent instead of good Universities like this one.

How is the financial aid assessed?

The financial aid given by Ashoka University is assessed solely on the basis of your family’s financial standing. It is not based on scholastic merit, sports qualifications, parent's occupation or any non-financial factors.

How much financial aid can I receive?
If you are eligible, you can receive anywhere from a 25% waiver on tuition to a full waiver on the total fee.

Even in biology and sciences, faculty research is way ahead of IITs, they also started a virology department recently after COVID, to do research in this area in the future.
