have been doing for quite some time, since 2012 just the practice, i used to do push ups 5 times a week, with 300-400 a day, every day practice should do good, like try to push up 5 extra for every set, then 10, then 20 and so on... make sure you have enough protein in you just in case, which will also help in some nice bi and tri muscle.
