He was reluctant in the past. The position of BJP now is different. Since it's growing and not established fully in TG, BJP can't project hard core people like Aravind/Bandi as CM candidate. That will backfire. They project soft mascot like Kishan Reddy and hard core leaders will work. This helps to attract nuetral, anti-incumbent and right wing votes.

About jayashankar's comment, it's true the case of kammas because they dont wield much power in TG because of their %. It's not the same with reddies. But supermacy will not be much because of leaders from other castes like Aravind Bandi/Raghunandhan and TRS being dominated by KCR family.

Sir used to tell that reddies of tg when combined with guntur and rayalseema ones are a formidable force...he did foretell one thing that tg will be having a cm from bc, sc or st within first three terms...so waiting for that to happen...also one more thin prof kondandaram sir used to say...once tg is formed these politicians will not allow us to enter into their gates itself..." valla vaakili kuda thokkaniyyaru manalni" was his verbatim statement...so true ...

If Aravind is projected as CM, they will have to wait for another 10 years. It will not fetch more than what they have got now. To improve from what they got now, they need person like Kishan Reddy who has been associated with party from the start and can be easily projected as less acceptable person to all sections.

He is not going against BJP. He will actually go against TRS. His votebank is with TRS now. Velamollu power lo unte redlaki emvasthadhi ane antunnaru even with 48 of them. Ee dora vyuham Anni articles raayadaanike. When the time comes, they will happily push dora aside.

Most of the reddies in congi are thinking of joining bjp. Ippudu jagga gaadu tg loki vachina leaders evaru poru. Kaani reddy votes may split between bjp & ycp..  lb nagar, ibrahipatnam, nalgonda regions lo reddy population ekkuva. Current bjp waive start ayindi aa areas lo. Ippudu jagan vasthey aa areas lo bjp ki koncham bokka. And that partial shift of votes is good enough for trs

Chendral saar is one kind of chanakya who knows to identify winners and shift gear towards them. 98, 2013 lo bjp tho tie up perfect example.

Shah is another kind.  He knows how to attack ruling parties and shift momentum towards bjp.
