You can become a Technical Manager and stay close to the development activities... get involved in architectural discussions, code reviews etc and also manage a team...

Management is not just about PowerPoints and spreadsheets..

Why do you want to do project management? Basically you will end up doing nothing. I see my husband on zoom calls, he talks with a set of people about what they need, and then he talks with another set of people about what they should do. He doesn't do anything in between, maybe I little bit of budgeting and planning, but that's about it. Nothing else.

Don’t do it.. once you become a manager, you become dumb.. difficult for many people to come back to a developer or architect role after few years in management.. I went through this... if you are on H1b, it is even more difficult to find PM roles...

coding chaala raasa, chaala years.. growth antu emi ledhu, ave conversions, interfaces, prod support. I don’t see growth. Hierarchy lo last level lo vuntunnattu vundhi. Atleast PMO ki move ayithe, kastha close ga vuntamu upper mgmt eyes lo.

once you become manager or move to mgmt. the engineers/architects will run the meetings and you will just keep nodding head here and there. Okasari you will ask some dumb question and the engineer will reply you with multi threading , sync async calls etc and you will not know a s**t of it. That day you will regret.

arerey last ki ee baccha gaadi maatalu vinalsi vastondi ani.

management roles are only in India. In real life cash is king . In US tech is king.

Actually I am/was into oracle and our company was bought by other company and they are into SAP. So, now I have to start learning ABAP from basic as I learned C, Oracle, Java etc from Genesis , system.out.println ‘hello world’. That’s why decided to move into mgmt.

I don't know why my husband gets paid three times as much as I do. I asked him why, and he has no idea. So, no I don't know why people in project management get paid so much for answering zoom calls to tell people what to do.

Working half the time and getting paid twice doesn't seem like that much work.
