Jennifer Doudna is more new no, everyone is probably happy about it except for Feng Zhang. George Church probably isn't as sad because he got used to it, lol. Quote

PhD is for people who enjoy it and the research after the graduation for the rest of his/her life. It doesn't mean that the person is less worthy. It is just matter of interent and experiencing the enjoyment. If you don't find that, take the burden off. I always wanted to do PhD after masters but I had confusion during the masters whether I will be able to pull it off and stay in the academic field for the rest of the life. Infact, I had choosen the masters subjects and the Uni to bolster my PhD chances. I read one paper in the Uni library, it was so hard hitting and helped me to decide that I am not a PhD guy. It was written by some professor from his experience with his life and the students he mentored. @thanks but I think my situation is different than yours. Quote

It's fun and challenging I am considering advanced thermodynamics or advanced biochemistry. I think these would be subjects that have a lot of studying and very little practical application. Those are the subjects I really like. Quote
