Popular Post krishnaaa Posted December 17, 2020 Popular Post Report Posted December 17, 2020 India and US are 2 completely different countries and are on completely different timelines. Real Estate works well in India as India is a developing nation with lot population growth. Due to less infra to take care of, you pay very less in property taxes and the labor is also very cheap. Also, everyone invests in RE in India Coming to USA, RE doesn't work in most cases if you calculate all the expenses due to property taxes, labor, upkeep, regulations etc. When you are in Rome , be a Roman. Stock Market is King in USA. But Indians still run behind real estate in USA. Just do some good research and you should be able to find many undervalued stocks to invest. If that is too much work, just invest in vanguard or Fidelity ETFs. If that sounds complicated too, just transfer money to betterment and the robo advisor would invest in low cost ETFs......and then go chill have some beer. Mana vallu running blindly behind RE in USA chusi thattukolekapothunna.....maarandi sami 4 Quote

Long term it doesn't work. You will be US and money will be stuck in India....your lifestyle won't improve. In turn it will cause you lot of headaches. What is the use of such money? It was a good idea a decade ago....not now. 7 Quote

Real estate used to be very lucrative in the past but the returns in RE in india over the last 7 years are piss poor when compared to stocks. Hyderabad is a slight exception but NCR / Mumbai / Chennai / banglore all had stagnant RE prices in most areas during Modi's term due to various factors 2 Quote

You can own REITs instead. I bought KIM during pandemic and its 50% up from where I bought and pays awesome dividend. No need to spend any time looking for tenants. SPG is another stock that has RE exposure and it increased quite a bit as well. Also, If you are buying a house or a piece of land, it depends on that particular city and that particular community. How is it diversified? If you watch real estate, people are buying lot of houses through Rocket Mortgage(RKT). They also bought Finmo which captures Canada Real Estate market. RKT is highly undervalued can double in a year. Very easy to invest this way. Why take too much stress and have lesser chances of earning money? 1 Quote

No more kabjaalu no more land litigation ani @Assam_Bhayya cheppamannadu Emi ledhu , these laws do not change the fundamental flaws in registration department that cause disputes . You know in Telangana they can produce a document that states Nizam has sold us the land and hence we have sole ownership of the property and courts will accept it . There is nothing in these laws that eliminates Nizam era transactions as illegitimate . The new way has made it more transparent but the loopholes are still there. Remaining states may copy the same system after the issues are sorted out 1 Quote

SnP500 has always went up long term. Average returns is 8% which is equivalent to 17% in India. You can't say the same about Real Estate. It barely beat inflation long term. And in future, real estate values are going to drop like a rock due to technology. Robotics is going to drastically reduce construction costs and radically change home designs. Closed Kitchen models are outdated now, next people would like homes with solar roofs. We are in technology age, things are rapidly changing....people won't be able to keep up with traditional real estate. Better to invest in companies. Quote
