Dravid and Pujara’s role in the team is to hold one end, protect the middle order and face as many balls as possible... and make the bowlers tired and the ball loses its shine... it is easier to score runs if the ball gets old... Indian openers have always been very weak in Tests..

There are so many other instances where he played for the team and his major innings are overshadowed by other batsman. (Saurav 183 in world cup, VVS in Kolkata etc etc) 

 

I strongly feel, he won more test matches by playing a CRUCIAL role than any other batsmen in his era. 

 

If you feel all the above qualities are overrated, yes he is absolutely Overrated.

I just meant as a batsman he is overrated. because there's no one offering countering opinions about his uselessness in tests, whereas Tendulkar's achievements are looked into with a magnifying glass.

for eg. Dravid's record overseas is only bolstered by his record in english conditions. In South Africa, his avg is probably in the high 20s or early 30s.. very very low. and he only had one 3 figure score in australia, and an overall poor record in aus.
