An SBI employee was strangled by her stalker after she refused his advances in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district. After the murder, the accused set the body on fire.

A man in Andhra Pradesh's Anantapur district strangled a woman and set her body on fire after she rejected his advances.

The incident took place in the Dharmavaram Mandal of the Anantapur district.

Police suspect that the deceased Snehalatha, a contract employee of State Bank of India (SBI) in Dharmavaram, was killed by her stalker.

Her body was later set ablaze by the accused.

Snehalatha had been missing since Tuesday and her parents had lodged a missing person complaint at the Anantapur One Town police station.

On Wednesday morning, her body was found at an isolated field on the outskirts of Dharmavaram.

Snehalatha's parents have alleged that two youth -- Rajesh and Karthik -- were stalking and harassing their daughter and killed her after she refused their advances.

TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh demanded strict punishment for those behind the brutal murder while also alleging a rise in crime against women in the state. He blamed the ruling YS Jagan government for inaction.

Hyderabad: A stalker allegedly strangled an 18-year-old girl and set her body ablaze in Dharmavaram town of Anantapur district in Andhra Pradesh late on Tuesday night.

The police claimed to have nabbed the culprit within hours but the tragedy took place after the victim's parents lodged a complaint of her missing on Tuesday night. The victim was working as an outsourcing employee in a leading nationalised bank.

The half-burnt body of the girl was found in agriculture fields at Boddanapalli village on Dharmavaram outskirts on Wednesday morning.
According to police, the accused, Gutti Rajesh resorted to the extreme as she had turned down his repeated proposals.

 

 

Dharmavaram (Rural) police inspector P Janardhan Naidu said, parents of the girl approached the police at around 9:30pm on Tuesday night, stating that their daughter had not returned home from office. Her mother expressed doubts on Rajesh and his friend Karthik.

The police formed teams to search for her. On Wednesday morning, the police got information about a half-burnt body of a woman lying in the agriculture fields at Madanapalle.

“The girl's family members identified the body as that of their daughter,” the inspector said.

According to the victim’s mother, Rajesh had been stalking her for quite some time and was forcing her to marry him.

The police said preliminary investigations revealed that the victim might have been taken to the spot by Rajesh on the pretext of talking to her personally and committed murder by strangling her.

ధర్మవరం, అనంతపురం నేరవార్తలు-న్యూస్‌టుడే, ఈనాడు-అమరావతి: ప్రేమోన్మాదానికి మరో యువతి బలైంది. పది రోజుల కిందటే ఉద్యోగంలో చేరిన ఆనందం తీరకముందే దారుణ హత్యకు గురైంది. అనంతపురం జిల్లా ధర్మవరంలో స్నేహలత (19) అనే ఎస్సీ వర్గానికి చెందిన యువతిని అత్యంత పాశవికంగా హతమార్చారు. నిర్మానుష్య ప్రదేశానికి తీసుకెళ్లి.. గొంతు నులిమి చంపేశారు. అనంతరం పొట్ట కింద భాగంలో నిప్పు అంటించారు. దీంతో ఆమె శరీర భాగం కొంత కాలింది. ఈ దారుణం గతేడాది  హైదరాబాద్‌ శివార్లలో చోటు చేసుకున్న ‘‘దిశ’’ ఉదంతాన్ని తలపిస్తోంది. బ్యాంకు నుంచి బయల్దేరిన తమ కుమార్తె ఇంటికి రాలేదంటూ అదే రోజు రాత్రి బాధితురాలి తల్లిదండ్రులు పోలీసుస్టేషన్‌కు వెళ్లి ఫిర్యాదిచ్చినా, రాజేష్‌ అనే యువకుడు ప్రేమ పేరిట వేధింపులకు గురిచేస్తున్నాడని అంతకు ముందు పదే పదే ఫిర్యాదులు చేసినా పోలీసుల నుంచి తగిన స్పందన లేకపోవటంతో నిండు ప్రాణం పోయింది.

గంటలో ఇంటికి చేరుకుంటానని చెప్పి...
అనంతపురం అశోక్‌నగర్‌కు చెందిన స్నేహలత ధర్మవరం స్టేట్‌బ్యాంక్‌లో పొరుగు సేవల ఉద్యోగినిగా పది రోజుల కిందటే విధుల్లో చేరారు. రోజూ లాగానే మంగళవారం సాయంత్రం 6 గంటలకు బ్యాంకులో విధులు ముగించుకుని బయటకొచ్చిన ఆమె తిరిగి ఇంటికి చేరలేదు. చివరిసారిగా సాయంత్రం 6.30 గంటల సమయంలో తన తండ్రికి ఫోన్‌ చేసి  గంటలో ఇంటికి చేరుకుంటానని చెప్పిన ఆమె...7.30 గంటలైనా అనంతపురం చేరుకోకపోవటంతో ఆందోళన చెందిన ఆయన స్నేహలతకు ఫోన్‌ చేశారు. స్విచ్చాఫ్‌ అని రావడం గంటలు గడుస్తున్నా ఆమె రాకపోవటంతో ఆ విషయం తన భార్యకు చెప్పారు.

రాజేష్‌ అనే యువకుడు గత కొంత కాలంగా స్నేహలతను ప్రేమ పేరిట వేధిస్తుండటంతో ఆమె తల్లిదండ్రులు మొదట అతనిపైనే అనుమానపడ్డారు. రాత్రి 9 గంటల సమయంలో రాజేష్‌ ఇంటికి వెళ్లి ‘‘మా కుమార్తెను ఏం చేశావ్‌? ఎక్కడుందో చెప్పు?.’’ అంటూ గట్టిగా నిలదీశారు. ఆ సమయంలో అతనితో పాటు అతని స్నేహితుడు కార్తీక్‌ కూడా అక్కడే ఉన్నాడు. తనకు తెలియదని అతను సమాధానం ఇవ్వడంతో చివరికి రాత్రి 9.30 గంటల సమయంలో అనంతపురం ఒకటో పట్టణ పోలీసుస్టేషన్‌లో ఫిర్యాదు చేశారు. అయితే ‘‘అమ్మాయి ఏమీ చిన్న పిల్ల కాదు కదా? వచ్చేస్తుందిలే. ఉదయం రండి. వెతుకుదాం’’ అంటూ పోలీసులు నిర్లక్ష్యంగా సమాధానం ఇచ్చారని బాధితురాలి తల్లిదండ్రులు వాపోతున్నారు.

పోలీసుల కథనం ప్రకారం... నిందితుడైన రాజేష్‌ సాయంత్రం 6.45 సమయంలో స్నేహలతను ధర్మవరం గాంధీ సర్కిల్‌ వద్ద తన ద్విచక్ర వాహనంపై బలవంతంగా ఎక్కించుకొని అనంతపురం వెళ్లేందుకు దగ్గర దారైన బడన్నపల్లి పొదలవైపు తీసుకెళ్లాడు. అక్కడ తొలుత గొంతు నులిమి చంపేశారు. ఆనవాళ్లు కనిపించకుండా చేయాలనే ఉద్దేశంతో స్నేహలత సంచిలో ఉన్న కాగితాలు తీసుకొని ఆమె పొట్ట భాగంపై వేసి నిప్పు అంటించాడు. దీంతో ఆ భాగమంతా పూర్తిగా కాలిపోయింది. అనంతరం పరారైయ్యాడు. ప్రస్తుతం పోలీసుల అదుపులో ఉన్న అతను.. నేరాన్ని అంగీకరించినట్లు  సమాచారం. ఒక్కడే ఈ దారుణానికి ఒడిగట్టాడా? ఇంకెవరైనా సహకరించారా? అనే కోణంలో పోలీసులు విచారిస్తున్నారు.  హత్యచేసిన ప్రాంతం నుంచి నిందితుడి ఇంటికి 40 నిమిషాల్లో చేరుకోవొచ్చు. దీంతో చంపిన వెంటనే ఇంటికొచ్చేసిన రాజేష్‌ తన స్నేహితుడు కార్తీక్‌తో కలిసి మద్యం సేవిస్తున్నట్లు సమాచారం.

హత్య జరిగి 15 గంటలైనా..
మంగళవారం రాత్రి 7-8 గంటల మధ్య హత్య జరిగితే.. బుధవారం ఉదయం 11.30 గంటల వరకూ పోలీసులు ఈ విషయం గుర్తించలేకపోయారనే ఆరోపణలు వినిపిస్తున్నాయి. బడన్నపల్లి సమీపంలోని కందిచేను వద్ద యువతి మృతదేహం కాలిపోయిన స్థితిలో ఉందని ఎవరో సమాచారమిస్తే అప్పటికప్పుడు పోలీసులు అక్కడికి వెళ్లారు. గుర్తింపు కార్డు ఆధారంగా మృతురాలిని స్నేహలతగా గుర్తించారు. అయితే ఫిర్యాదు వచ్చిన వెంటనే తాము ఆమె సెల్‌ నంబర్‌ ఆధారంగా టవర్‌ లొకేషన్‌ గుర్తించగా ధర్మవరంలో ఉన్నట్లు తేలిందని పోలీసులు చెబుతున్నారు. వెంటనే ప్రత్యేక బృందాలుగా వీడి గాలింపు చేపట్టామని పేర్కొన్నారు. అంత సత్వరంగా పోలీసులు స్పందించి ఉంటే ఉదయం 11.30 గంటలకు ఎవరో చెప్పేవరకూ ఎందుకు గుర్తించలేకపోయారనే ప్రశ్నలు వస్తున్నాయి. ధర్మవరం, అనంతపురం పోలీసుల మధ్య సమన్వయం లేకుండాపోయిందన్న విమర్శలు వెల్లువెత్తుతున్నాయి.

1,600 ఫోన్‌ కాల్స్‌

గత నెల రోజుల వ్యవధిలో నిందితుడు రాజేష్‌, స్నేహలత మధ్య 1,600 కాల్స్‌, 300 ఎస్‌ఎంఎస్‌ల సంభాషణలు జరిగాయని పోలీసులు చెబుతున్నారు. హత్యకు గురైన రోజు కూడా దాదాపు 16 కాల్స్‌ ఉన్నట్లు వివరిస్తున్నారు. స్నేహలత తనను దూరం పెట్టి మరొకరితో చనువుగా ఉంటుందనే అనుమానంతోనే కక్ష పెంచుకొని భవన నిర్మాణ కార్మికుడిగా పనిచేసే రాజేష్‌ ఆమెను హతమార్చాడనేది పోలీసుల కథనం.

నా కుమార్తెను ప్రేమ పేరిట రాజేష్‌ వేధిస్తున్నాడని అనంతపురం వన్‌టౌన్‌ పోలీసులకు అనేక మార్లు ఫిర్యాదు చేశాను. రెండు నెలల కిందట కూడా ఒక సారి వెళ్లి ఫిర్యాదు చేశాను. ‘‘మీరు ఇల్లు మారితే సమస్యలు ఉండవు కదా’’ అని వారు సలహా ఇచ్చారే తప్ప.. చర్యలు తీసుకోలేదు. ఆ యువకుడు నా కుమార్తె పేరుతో పచ్చబొట్టు వేయించుకున్నాడు. మా ఇంటి ముందు ద్విచక్రవాహనంపై పలుమార్లు తిరిగేవాడు. ఈ విషయాలన్నీ పదే పదే పోలీసుల దృష్టికి తీసుకెళ్లినా చర్యలు లేవు. దిశా యాప్‌లో ఫిర్యాదు చేసినా స్పందన లేదు. రాజేష్‌, అతని స్నేహితుడు కార్తీక్‌ నా కుమార్తెను చంపారు. వారిని కఠినంగా శిక్షించాలి.
