rich chinese don't have much restrictions. same as India.

the only difference from India is, chinese need passes to move from one city to another, which Indians don't.

Hmm... but to assume that China will keep on growing at the current rate is wrong.

What restrictions? Do you prefer people dying with hunger or do you perfer people feeding their bellies? To comprehend fully one needs to understand the severity of their poverty earlier. China's growth is real miracle in modern times. Lifting nearly 40% of the world poor people out of poverty is not an easy one.

The restrictions in China are tolerable to the majority and many support them. The only propblem with them is their human rights. This is an issue in countries like India and Africa. China's economy is nearly on par with western countries. But their human rights and restrictions are more or less similar to developing countries.

I am not expecting to grow like that forever. But they will not go back to the poverty levels of 1960s when they were poorer than Africa. They are doing well diversifying their economy.

No country goes back to being poor unless there's a civil war, and everything they built is destroyed or is allowed to rust because they got bored. even India is not gonna be poor again.

but future projections are all too rosy for both US and China. Both of them are bad faith actors in the world economy, and are primed for a clash in the near future.

unless ofcourse some kind of space colonization race happens, and then they'll focus their energies on that front, and not fight direct bloody battles.

unless tech improves by leaps and bounds in the next decade, the world is fcuked. we are gonna have a war.
