I dont know that much about chinese political system. But it is laguhable to say chinese dont have freedom for normal things in life. It is not  a closed society. Last year almost 200 million chinese travelled abroad. Its not like soviet union where people werent freely permitted to travel abroad. And chinese diaspora is huge. It is inconcievable chinese who know the world and constantly travel will accept to live like slaves at home.

 

Also indians ki freedom endhiva - they cant even marry outside their tiny caste. vote outside it.
