Its a question of survival for the CCP. People are waiting to take their head off, if they falter. They have drummed up so much natonalist sentiment the last few years, its frankly disgusting. They are worse than India in that respect.

centralized planning doesn't work Chinese economy is not centrally planned or managed, CCP just manipulates its currency, and messes with the financial system, never directly with the economy, inspite of 60% of the economy consisting of public enterprises, which are all run with a greater degree of autonomy.

India did a mistake by opening up its financial sector to the world, and with it the scrutiny of the world, before India got off to a great start. Now, whenever wants to make bold expenditure plans, you'll have western hawks threatening India that its bonds will be moved to junk status. 

pvnr should have done the harder thing of opening up credit and shutting out domestic financial system from the world, than open India to investors. Investors are all assholes, and India can never escape this position of west's lapdog under this arrangement.

India can do all the planning or whatever it wants to. But unless Modi closes off India's economy to the world (which he has done in few sectors), and still create competitive environment for local providers to thrive in, India has no hope in hell to compete at the highest level.

like how did 4G in India become so competitive, inspite of no presence of much outside investment? India should replicate that model in all sectors. I mean try to achieve that end.

Exactly - we can see china is actually building stuff people use - rails, trains, roads, parks, buildings, schools. It doesnt matter what loans are behind it, They are building one on other and people are getting to enjoy it and live a good quality life;

i dont think 4g coverage all that good in india outside cities. its very low quality.
