USCIS announced a new update to the list of vaccinations required to obtain permanent residence or refugee status.

They have added the COVID-19 vaccine.

Beginning October 1st, if you want a green card, you will need to get the vaccine.

In their announcement, they stated that anyone with a pending green card application will have to show proof of vaccination against the COVID-19 virus when attending their medical exam.

Acceptable forms of proof are considered to include an official vaccination record or copies of a medical chart showing proof of vaccine from a medical professional.

A lab test showing natural immunity from a prior COVID-19 infection will not be accepted, you will have to have the vaccine.
