My PD is Dec 2014 and my I485 was transferred to NBC recently for "faster processing" according to the notice. Why would this happen for a date as late as mine?

maybe your case is complete without anything else needed from you. did you send your medicals too? NBC is so much better. be hopeful that your date will get current this year or the next.
