Are they not making the entry requirements tough then? Every year hundreds of students apply, and six students are admitted. They need to convince someone to fund them for 6-7 years, work their ass off and publish to convince the committee. Are the requirements not tough enough already. It's not like Universities can increase the number of students just because more people apply for them. The University spends close to 120k on each PhD student per year (70k in tuition fee waiver, 40k in stipend, 10k in health insurance). So, they can only take more students if more faculty have money to take more students. And if more faculty have money, it means research is progressing. In other words, the number of PhD students a University produces directly correlates with the research budget and research progress. 1 Quote

I am not talking about decent and above universities for PhDs ra.. those requirements may be tough but Cumberland will also award a PhD and the entry requirements aren’t as tough so people will favor it to get a GC. Also if everyone gets an h1 after an MS then a lot more people would be applying for kufli universities just so that they can bag an h1.. Quote

You won't, because they don't exist. They just spend some time in the program, they don't really graduate. Quote
