I don't know if they are really buying the option calls at high prices driving the shorts to close. But it looks like the rumour has scared the shorters to close their positions. They don't want to be screwed like GME shorters were screwed. I guess thats the reason for sudden price increase. AMC-Amazon rumour was there from last 7-8 months. It just died as rumour.
