Justice DVSS Somayajulu, who heard both the sides, refused to stay the process. While passing the order, he said though the court directed the SEC to hold local body polls in 2018, they were not held. 

రాష్ట్రంలో గ్రామ పంచాయతీ సర్పంచి, వార్డు సభ్యుల పదవీ కాలం 2018 ఆగస్టులోనే ముగిసింది. అదే ఏడాది అక్టోబర్‌లో హైదరాబాద్‌లో ఉండే ఉమ్మడి ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌ హైకోర్టు.. మూడు నెలల్లో పంచాయతీ ఎన్నికలు జరపాలని స్పష్టంగా తీర్పు వెలువరించింది. ఆ సమయంలో కూడా రాష్ట్ర ఎన్నికల కమిషనర్‌గా నిమ్మగడ్డే ఉన్నారు. 

– అయితే అప్పట్లో ముఖ్యమంత్రిగా ఉన్న చంద్రబాబు అసెంబ్లీ ఎన్నికల ముందు పంచాయతీ ఎన్నికల వల్ల తెలుగుదేశం పార్టీకి నష్టం చేకూరుతుందని భావించారు. పంచాయతీ ఎన్నికలకు సిద్ధపడలేదు. అలాంటప్పుడు ఇప్పుడు మాదిరి నిమ్మగడ్డ నాడు చంద్రబాబు ప్రభుత్వంపై గవర్నర్‌కు ఫిర్యాదు చేయలేదు. ఎన్నికలకు టీడీపీ ప్రభుత్వం అడ్డుపడుతోందని ఎప్పుడూ కోర్టుకు వెళ్లలేదు.
