krldr871 Posted September 23, 2010 Report Posted September 23, 2010 A systems analyst is essentially a liason or a person who sits between the business who want to do what they do faster and the technical community ( developers, engineers, etc ) who build solutions on technology. As an analyst it is your job to translate the business world, terms, and processes to the technical community so they can derive requirements. Requirements are a list of statements ( or constraints ) that the engineer/develop must work against. It can run the gamut from helping define what the user interface should look like, how to take in input, all the way to how fast a transaction needs to run to be successful. There are challenges on both sides and it would be your job to try and balance so that the solution created by the engineers/developers meets the needs of the business. What do you need to learn? I would say from a high level data modeling ( which is the practice of understanding how data is valued and used in a process ), project management ( understanding the relationship between people, money, and resources ), business history ( if you are going to be a financial analyst you should have a firm understanding of finance, accounting, etc since those will most likely be the processes you will be analyzing ), and it doesnt hurt to brush up on soft skills such as communication. You are a professional after all ;-)http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/architect/thread/ffa0a351-a133-49c2-bfca-b686e24d5377idi ilane anni companies ki undalani rule ledu..so think about it..
