While I don't exactly know extensively about Cotton cultivation . Don't go by region if you are scouting for land ,  soil quality can vary widely in a small village itself . 

 

get the fields soil tested  and look for ideal quality soil . Much better than suggestions in a anonymous forum or real estate broker information . 

Some Agricultural officers also have extensive knowledge about these matters , so contact the local agricultural University and talk to professors . You can freely walk in and ask them advice . 

No matter what you do to increase output , weather plays a huge part in final yield .

Akkada problem enti antey those regions are heavily susceptible to droughts .  ,Complete crop failure chances are also very high , no wonder maharastra has the highest farmer suicides

Agriculture as a business is dead unless you want to do it as a hobby . It's better to be a broker for agriculture items than being a farmer in india
